We had a fantastic day with young people and parents at the Hawkins\Brown offices in London. The home of our design team, this was a great space to work together on how Cambridge Children's Hospital will look and feel.
We explored the hospital spaces using VR goggles, then mapped out a room on the floor to see how it worked with people in it. Artist Josh Bilton, supported by CUH Arts, facilitated the creative aspects of the day, helping us think about colours and textures that make us feel safe and happy. There was time to reflect on designs for the outdoor spaces and we made our own gardens in the art boxes. We also thought about how a hospital day might be for different people – a young patient, a sibling, a parent, a teenager with an eating disorder, a doctor and a researcher.
We hope you enjoy our gallery of photos. Click on each image to see it in full.
